How SureSmile works: Dunn Orthodontics starts the SureSmile process by using the iTero digital scanner on the patient’s teeth.  This handheld scanner works similar to a digital camera.  The iTero software is able to put multiple digital pictures together to create a 3-dimensional model of your teeth.  By using the SureSmile software, this 3-dimensional model is transformed into virtual teeth that can be manipulated by Drs. Matthew and Courtney Dunn to create the optimal bite and teeth alignment.

Once completed by Dr. Dunn, the 3-dimensional model is transmitted to SureSmile so that their robots can shape and bend the patient’s wires with unparalleled precision.  Once received in the office, these wires are placed by Dr. Matthew Dunn or Dr. Courtney Dunn into the braces so that the teeth move as efficiently as possible to their optimal final positions.  By using a shape memory alloy for the archwires, treatment is often more comfortable and requires fewer appointments than traditional orthodontic treatment.
