Today, Dr. R Keenan of Sparrow Health Syst., Lansing, MI called and spoke with our office. They had a patient that arrived by ambulance and was admitted to the ICU but they did not know who she was.

They called us because of the ATS Medical Alert pendant she was wearing. Our emergency alert pendants have a serial number and our toll free number on the back of them.

Armed with that information Assistive Technology Services was able to find the customer the emergency pendant belonged to and a contact name and phone number for them. Our customer support representative was able to provide that information to the doctor in the ER and he was able to get in touch with her son to identify her. The son then headed to the emergency room.

The system worked perfect. The customer was able to use the pendant to call 911 to come to her home, she passed out soon after the call, 911 was able to arrive and take her to the hospital for treatment and then the ER was able to identify her all because of the pendant from Assistive Technology Services.

The great part is that a life was probably saved and a senior was reunited with her so due to the pendant. 2 more very positive aspects of this pendant is there is no monthly charge to use it and the customer can actually talk right through the pendant like using a cordless phone. The ability to talk through the pendant is critical if you are out in your yard and need help.
