Texarkana Gets a Taste of Texas Legend, Golden Chick

Franchisee’s Jason Roy, Billy Roy & Kenny Delcambre have operated their family-owned construction business, Altech, since 1979. After seeing a need to diversify and expand the family business, the trio met with a business developer who gave them the idea of restaurant franchising and introduced them to Golden Chick.

“We met the executive team at the headquarters in Dallas and immediately loved the family friendly values of the brand, “ said Jason. “After tasting the food, we were sold. The delicious home-style cooking and the welcoming atmosphere is exactly the kind of business we are looking to bring to Texarkana.”

After signing the papers, Jason and management team traveled to Dallas again to complete restaurant management training with the Golden Chick Corporation.

“I’m new to the food industry, and Golden Chick has given me the resources to succeed. I have thoroughly enjoyed this franchising experience and am currently in the process of closing on a property in Marshall, TX for a second Golden Chick location, “ said Jason.

Being familiar with the construction industry proved to be beneficial to Jason. In less than 8 months the family built a new Golden Chick restaurant from the ground up.

The new location will help fuel the local economy with part-time jobs for students and full-time managerial roles.

Menu choices include Original Golden Tenders ™, Golden Roast Chicken, catfish and salad options for a healthier meal. Sides include battered French fries, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, fried okra, dirty rice, mac and cheese and cole slaw.

Extras include jalapeno poppers, corn nuggets, gourmet chicken salad, or the restaurant’s famous yeast rolls.
