Follow on Google News | Give Summer Jobs to Students, Out-of-School Youths - Edgardo "Sonny" AngaraTeam Pnoy senatorial candidate Edgardo "Sonny" Angara today urged government agencies and private companies to create employment for students and out-of-school youths this summer.
He said youth workers in government could provide general assistance in basic administrative tasks as public service assistants, computer operators, communication equipment operator assistants, accounting clerks and records clerk. "Today's job market is challenging," According to Angara, some private companies also provide summer jobs in the hope of training promising young students. The lawmaker from Aurora stressed the need to give students the necessary exposure in career-related fields to enhance their formal education training and gain hands on experience in their field of study. Summer jobs programs and services should also be open to out-of-school youths aged 18 to 24 years who are planning to return to school this June, he said. Angara encouraged other industries to reach out more to local youth. He said the number of young people employed at the height of summer is expected to increase due to plans by most private tertiary schools to increase tuition and other fees this June. ABOUT REP.
