Diabetes Coach Interns Needed for Diabetes Exercise Transformation at CampWILD This Summer

BOULDER, Colo. - April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- TeamWILD has opened the application process for Registered Dietitians to apply to become Diabetes Coach Interns at CampWILD to be held in Boulder, Colorado, June 19 to 23, 2013 at the Millennium Hotel.

CampWILD is an exciting specialty diabetes exercise training camp for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who are looking for guidance in how to exercise with diabetes with expert athletic, diabetes, nutrition and mental skills coaches.

CampWILD and TeamWILD use a solution-focused, integrated approach directly with the person with diabetes. CampWILD attendees can be of nearly any physical fitness level. CampWILD has three tracks: cycling, triathlon or run/walk.  

Diabetes Coach Interns will participate in all aspects of CampWILD including exercise sessions in running, cycling or triathlon. Interns will also participate in workshop sessions about diabetes management during exercise, exercise physiology, and sports nutrition as taught by TeamWILD Diabetes Coaches Marcey Robinson MS, RD, CSSD, CDE, BC-ADM and Jennifer Smith, RD, LD, CDE.

Diabetes Coach Interns at CampWILD will have the opportunity to learn about the following:

Exercise Physiology for diabetes
Sports nutrition for athletes who have diabetes
Real-time application of diabetes nutrition theory
Opportunity to work in the field with athletes of all levels who have diabetes
Tips and practical tools for troubleshooting diabetes and exercise
Powerful inspiration that will translate back to the home office practice

TeamWILD and CampWILD were started and are directed by Mari Ruddy who is the founder of the nationally recognized Red Rider Recognition Program which celebrates the more than 7,000 cyclists with diabetes who ride in the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure rides.
