ATLANTA - April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, Ga. (April 24, 2013) On the Tuesday evening “Live from WREK” radio show, the former JK and The Lost Boys announced their highly anticipated new band name.  Back in January, the band began an online campaign for a new name, which involved asking their fans for suggestions and letting them vote on favorites. At last, they have a new name: Radio Birds.

After three years, two albums, and seven different members, the band is ready to move forward artistically and shed their old skin.

“We needed a new identity. The old name just didn’t fit us anymore. We’re really excited about being Radio Birds,” says bassist Chase Lamondo.

Currently, Radio Birds are recording their new self-titled EP. Damon Moon, of famed Atlanta band Damon Moon and the Whispering Drifters, is at the head of tracking, mixing, and producing. While the band is not drastically changing their rock/blues/jam band roots, the new album shows their artistic progression. Reducing the number of singer/songwriter compilations and drawing from influences like James Taylor and Crosby Stills Nash and Young, the new album will have a full-band sound with the lo-fi purity akin to old rock-n-roll.

Fans can stream demos of three new songs at
radiobirds and pre-order the forthcoming EP starting today via

“The band is coming together and playing as a whole more than we ever have. The creativity is flowing,” said guitarist Justin Keller. “I’m proud to say we’re going to put out a cohesive and ranged record.”

The recording will be followed by a summer tour throughout the Southeast.
