April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- FLINT, MI, April 24, 2013 -- Other Cuban Journeys  has been approved by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control to operate licensed (CT-2012-296-454-1) People-to-People itineraries to Cuba.  They will offer set itineraries and create special interest itineraries for legitimate groups utilizing the enormous experience and numerous contacts the owners have developed over many years of exposure to the island, its culture and its people.

What do 2 ladies from different parts of the US, different ages, different lives have in common?  The answer is a passion for the island of Cuba and its people.

Marla Whitesman of Flint, MI and Miriam Saul of Atlanta, GA began their Cuban experience at the same time, December 2000, but for very different reasons.  Marla went to Cuba on an early cultural exchange.  Miriam returned to Cuba after an absence of 39 years longing to find her lost childhood and her memories.    Both returned to the US having experienced a profound life change.

For the last 12 years they have been primarily leading trips to Cuba to help the small Jewish Community that has been enjoying a Renaissance.  Through the years they have earned respect and developed great reputations as leaders who work to deliver a clear view of the island and its people.  Their Cuban contacts are from all walks of life: doctors, engineers, drivers, laborers, educators, religious leaders, artists, etc.  They have cultivated true friendships with individuals on the island who assist them in their quest to deliver a rich experience to their People to People groups visiting Cuba.

In order to expand and broaden their scope, Marla and Miriam recently received a People to People license, a very sought after "stamp of approval" from the U.S. government to legally travel to Cuba with purposeful interactions on the island.  These itineraries deliver maximum exposure to life in Cuba today. All participants must be active in all activities.  The first departures are open for sale to individuals and they depart beginning in June 2013.  They each feature eight days/seven nights in Cuba with visits to Havana and interior cities depending on the specific itinerary.

Scheduled dates currently available can be accessed online at: www.othercubanjourneys.com.  Additional departures will be added soon.  The cost quoted on any specific itinerary will include round-trip air from Miami and most meals.  “We are so pleased to offer this rare opportunity to interact with the Cuban people.  They will surprise and delight you,” assured Marla.

Contact Other Cuban Journeys for pricing on individual departures, specific itineraries, and additional details on a People to People experience to Cuba.  Marla and Miriam are experts at designing custom experiences for organizations or special interest groups.
