WESTFIELD, Mass. - April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Aegis Energy Services, Inc., a green energy innovator specializing in Combined Heat and Power (CHP), will begin installation of Tudor City Place’s fourth CHP system this summer in New York City.

Tudor City, recognized as the first residential skyscraper complex in the world, has previously installed three Aegis CHP systems at 2 Tudor City, 5 Tudor City, and 45 Tudor City.

“Repeat business for any industry, especially for us, is great testament to delivery of promised results and unparalleled service”, said Lee Vardakas, President of Aegis Energy Services, Inc.

25 Tudor City is an Aegis Energy Shared Savings site, with the company absorbing the initial cost of design, engineering, and installation. Likewise, Aegis Energy will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project. Through an agreement for sharing the energy savings with the host site, Aegis is able to amortize the capital and operating cost of the equipment.

The energy analysis of the proposed system at 25 Tudor City projects an annual energy savings that makes this unique program viable. The Aegis Energy Services CHP system will provide 47 percent of the building’s DHW thermal requirement and 34 percent of its electrical load.

Tudor City takes its name from England’s Tudor Dynasty. Known for its views of the East River and the United Nations, the building’s recognizable façade has been used in films such as “The Godfather Part III,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” and “Spider-Man.”

Founded in 1985, Aegis Energy Services is a full service Combined Heat and Power provider that utilizes modular systems to reduce both energy costs and emissions for a variety of facilities, from healthcare and assisted living facilities, to recreational and multi-residential complexes, and hotels. There are also institutional, educational, and industrial facility applications. Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is an efficient, clean, and reliable technology, which simultaneously generates electricity and thermal energy from a single fuel source.

Aegis Energy Services is the leader in modular CHP systems, having installed nearly 500 systems in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
