SHREWSBURY, N.J. - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- SHREWSBURY, NJ – The Work Group (TWG) will join companies around the United States to celebrate the 61st annual Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 24th. The commemoration honors the hardworking administrative professionals and their daily contributions to organizations nationwide. Administrative Professionals Day is one of the largest workplace observances in the world and falls in the middle of Administrative Professionals Week, recognized from April 21st until April 27th.

“Especially in recent years, the role of the Administrative Assistant has significantly evolved into handling a much broader spectrum of daily challenges and responsibilities,” says Diane Mazza and Koleen Singerline, Principals of TWG, headquartered in Shrewsbury. “There has been a continuous increase in importance for the Administrative Assistant position, especially with the maximized focus on technology in today’s business environment.”

Mazza reports that TWG has seen an increase in orders for Administrative Assistants in the Central Jersey area. In addition to helping employers manage increases in demand, Administrative Assistants are specifically effective at implementing efficiencies and improvements for the office. As businesses are focused on increasing productivity and profitability in 2013, they’re more heavily relying on successful administrative professionals.

“Because Administrative Assistants often support numerous departments, they have the power to view companies holistically,” says Mazza. “This gives them a unique perspective and enables them to contribute insight into improving daily operations, increasing productivity and the supplementary issues impacting a company’s bottom line.”

The U.S. Department of Labor states that there are currently more than 4.2 million Administrative Assistants and 8.9 million professionals working in various administrative support roles in the United States. Since 1952, the International Association of Administrative Professionals has honored these workers by sponsoring Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day.

“Administrative professionals make businesses more effective because they are specialists in recommending practical solutions,” adds Mazza. “This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment.”

TWG is headquartered in Shrewsbury and has offices in Spotswood and Lakewood. While TWG’s recruiters service all industries, their niche areas include Administrative & Clerical, Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Pharmaceutical & Biotech, Executive & Management and Light Industrial.
