ScholarBuys attends C2ES 2013 hosted by the Douglas Stewart Company.

CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- The annual C2ES event, hosted by the Douglas Stewart Company began, on the evening of April 15th, 2013 at the Marriott West- Madison.  Mike Brown, Regional Sales Manager, and Kristen Johnson, Marketing Coordinator attended on behalf of ScholarBuys.

Monday evening’s event was located at nearby restaurant and pub, Sprecher’s. Discussions centralized around the current needs of institutions and where their needs are headed going forth in an age of social-mobility, cloud, and “big data.”

Tuesday morning, April 16th began with the VAR (Value Added Reseller) Session Track. During the VAR sessions, ScholarBuys met one-on-one with many key vendors that support the education niche market. Additionally, ScholarBuys met with a few vendors in hopes of implementing strategic partnerships. ScholarBuys representatives Mike and Kristen met with Adobe, Meru Networks, Nuance, Parallels, Symantec, as well as Thomas Reuters- just to name a few.  The one-on-one sessions were unique in that a 20 minutes span was designated solely to ScholarBuys to discuss the needs of the education market.

The afternoon of the 16th was designated to presentations from Robert Iskander of EduTone, John Connolly of Chicago Community Consolidated High School District 230, and Adam Wing of AbleNet. The commonality between all three of these key-note speakers was to acknowledge the ever-changing climate of technological advances.  The demand for hardware in the classroom is increasing as mobile learning becomes more prevalent nationwide. In conjunction with the demand for mobile learning devices, the need for assistive technology to support those that cannot otherwise operate iPads, keyboards, and etc. continues to grow. School Districts across the U.S. have the budget in place to support the needs of students whom require A.T. hardware such as switches and stands in the classroom.  ScholarBuys is looking forward to informing our customer base of the knowledge that was gained during the C2ES presentations.

On the morning of April 17th, C2ES began with a bagpipe precession in to the exhibitor space of the trade show.  The trade show exhibit day encompassed a first-hand glance at the newest products on the market, as well as a back-to-school preview. The exhibits we’re open to attendees from 8-5 PM.  Additionally, there was also an educational seminar, “Uncrapify Your Life” presented by Jeff Havens during the lunch break.

C2ES came to a close on the evening of the 17th with dinner at a local restaurant, Vintage Brewing Co. Tunes we’re provided courtesy of the Skull Candy DJ booth. Also, caricature drawings done by Heather Mulligan and Theo Howard, we’re available to those that attended.

Overall, C2ES was highly beneficial for ScholarBuys to attend to gain knowledge from publishers about the latest and greatest products for the BTS season.
