By: Philander Smith College,The Fellowship Academy, New to the Atlanta area, Hazell grew up in San Francisco. Beginning her interest in music at the tender age of five, she played the piano and added the flute to her repertoire by age 10. She enhanced her ability to read, play and sing music by attending The Fellowship Academy, a well-known Christian private school San Francisco. A graduate of Little Rock Arkansas’ Philander Smith College, Hazell received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. She continued to develop her understanding of different musical styles and genres throughout her undergraduate studies with the aid of the Philander’s Collegiate Choir Scholarship. Hazell is influenced by a number of famously talented artists such as, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gay and Amy Winehouse. Although she describes her personal songwriting style as, “a blend of R&B and Jazz with a little Pop on the side,” she has the ability to write in any style given the inspiration. This is largely due to her acute ear for great music regardless of musical genre. Biltmore Records is excited to present her creative original talent to the music industry and looks forward to sharing her music with the world. Established in Charlotte, N.C. in 2007, Biltmore Records’ vision is to produce quality material, distribute that product to a worldwide audience and establish itself as the Carolina’s premier record label. Through its radio shows, live events and promotion efforts it has tapped into the unique sound of the Carolinas, providing a platform for these artists to take center stage. End
