LOS ANGELES - April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- “Bible Storyland” Documentary Film named Official Selection at
The United Film Festival, Los Angeles

The producer’s of "Bible Storyland" are pleased to announce their inclusion in the 2013 United Film Festival, with a rare L.A. screening on April 28th at 4:30pm. Stephanie Hubbard (Director), Charles Phoenix (Pop Culture Humorist), and Harvey Jordan (subject in film), will attend the screening and participate in a Q&A session afterwards.

In "Bible Storyland", art dealer Harvey Jordan, feeling trapped in his own life and fearing his mortality, embarks on an epic quest to uncover the mysteries of a never-built 1960's Disney inspired, theme park. Along the way, Jordan's story serves up an engaging exploration of the intersection of pop culture and religion, as it humorously illustrates the challenges of long-term relationships in our modern world. Director Stephanie Hubbard layers classic cinema and pop culture into this fun, quirky documentary as she explores a myriad of subjects including Disneyland, The Wizard of Oz, Yo-Yos, Hollywood films, and religious doctrine in the late 1950’s.

“We’re very honored and grateful to The United Film Festival for including us in their exciting lineup for this year’s event” said Hubbard. "Our film was produced here in Southern California and covers some lost history that very few Californians know about. We believe Los Angeles audiences will be amazed with the story. People don't usually think of documentaries as fun, weird and uplifting,” she says, "but this one is!" Hubbard is an award-winning documentary editor whose films have won awards worldwide, and whose shows have run on PBS, and the Discovery and History Channels.

"Bible Storyland" features Charles Phoenix (retro Pop-Culture Humorist), Rev. Canon Malcolm Boyd (religious leader, writer for The Huffington Post), and Debi Derryberry (prolific voice actor, “Jimmy Neutron”, etc.). Jordan’s journey through retro-Americana brings to light this little known story of California’s history related to Disneyland and Old Hollywood.

“‘Bible Storyland’ is a marvelous drama, wrapped in a comedy, folded around a documentary, twisted into a detective story and...squeezed into a valentine. This is a journey to a place that may not have existed in person, but certainly lives in one man’s heart – a wonderful adventure that the child in all of us – along with the dreamer and treasure hunter – can appreciate.”- Chris Epting, pop culture expert, author

“‘Bible Storyland’ is a wonderful look at an honest to goodness chapter in California’s folk history. It's a real investigative eye-opener and fun to watch!” - Huell Howser, producer/host of “California’s Gold”

“Bravo! ‘Bible Storyland’ is brilliant. A great story, beautifully told...I loved it.”- Gary Conrad, T.V. director: “Fairly Odd Parents”, “Dora the Explorer”
