Basic Neurocellular Patterns (BNP) of Movement This course explores movement templates that first appear in the womb and continue emerging and integrating through infancy. Students will explore how BNP form the basis of all human movement and psychophysical patterns of expression while influencing learning, physical and emotional challenges. Underlying principles are applicable to all ages. (Prerequisite course for Infant Developmental Movement Education) Senses & Perception In this course students will learn how we filter and modify sensory information as a means of learning, bonding and defending. Explorations of the Senses, which allow us to receive information from ourselves and from the outer world, and of Perception, the psychophysical process of interpreting sensory information, helps people better understand their learning and decision-making processes. Developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, it is an experiential study based on the embodiment and application of anatomical, physiological, psychophysical and developmental principles, utilizing movement, touch, voice and mind. Its uniqueness lies in the specificity with which each of the body systems can be personally embodied and integrated, the fundamental groundwork of developmental repatterning, and the utilization of a body-based language to describe movement and body-mind relationships.
