Honda Adds Active Braking to the Many Safety Features of the FitThe 2014 model of Honda's acclaimed hatchback will feature low-speed active braking assistance to help prevent collisions.
By: Tamaroff Honda The active braking system being added onto the Fit will be in effect at low speeds – anything under 18 mph – and will sense when there's an impending collision to apply the brakes and ideally prevent damage to the vehicle and any other vehicles or obstacles. Geared primarily toward city environments, the active braking system is yet another feature Honda has designed to give drivers peace of mind, joining active headrests, a range of airbags, and Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering frame. Not only have Honda engineers helped to ensure that their vehicles achieves high rankings from safety experts such as the NHTSA and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but the Fit is pretty remarkable in and of itself. Just recently, an Alabama driver rolled their Honda Fit seven times during poor weather, walking away and eager to get behind the wheel of another Fit. The legacy of the Fit is more than safety, however, and like many of the new 2013 Honda models available at Tamaroff Honda, it is one of the most well-equipped vehicles on the road. Opting to upgrade to the Sport trim level causes Honda's stylish hatchback to put competing vehicles to shame. The 2013 Honda Fit is currently available with a special 36-month lease at $169/month through the end of the Honda Really Big Spring Event. Other vehicles highlighted in the savings include the Civic, Accord, Crosstour, CR-V, and more. To learn more about the safety features of the new Honda Fit or to take the current model for a test drive, readers have been asked to contact the sales experts at Tamaroff Honda. Their sales team is on site six days a week, and the full lineup of current Honda vehicles is available now in their showroom at 28585 Telegraph Road in Southfield, Michigan.
