Tucson author and photographer publishes interactive book about southeast Arizona’s Sky Islands

TUCSON, Ariz. - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Sky Islands. The phrase seems nonsensical at first, creating a sort of cognitive dissonance. Your head tries to wrap itself around the concept but struggles to make sense of it. Two completely unrelated words smashed together in an apparent attempt to communicate an idea, but what?

Sky Islands are rugged mountains that rise precipitously skyward amidst a sea of desert. The ebook “Land of the Desert Sky: Arizona’s Desert Sky Islands” uses photographs, descriptions, and mixed media elements to illustrate the many facets of these beautiful geologic, ecologic, and climatic “islands”.

The book is digital only and currently available for all versions of the iPad. The text is informative and beautifully illustrated with Dennis’s photographs.
