Health IT Innovation Finalists Announced for NCHICA and Intel Awards

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- The North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA) and Intel Corporation have announced finalists for the Health IT Innovation Awards, which recognize outstanding applications of technology and unique approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery within the United States.

There are three finalists in each of the four categories: Consumer Engagement, Informatics & Analytics Clinical Applications, and Research Applications. The finalists are:

•   Consumer Engagement: Carolinas HealthCare System, Knowledge Anywhere and Son Information Systems

•  Informatics & Analytics: C10 Connect, M*Modal and Premier Healthcare Alliance

•  Clinical Applications: Coastal Connect HIE, LifeMed ID and NC AHEC

•  Research Applications: Duke University/Duke Center for Health Informatics and two entries from RENCI (Renaissance Computing Institute at UNC Chapel Hill)

Winners will be announced at the Health IT Innovation Awards Ceremony & Dinner on May 7, 2013 at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC. Event co-sponsors include GA HIMSS (Georgia Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Association), NCHIMSS (North Carolina Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Association) and NCTA (North Carolina Technology Association).
