Follow on Google News | A Unique, Low Cost, Puppy Socialization Class Is Now Being Offered In Centennial, ColoradoPuppy socialization classes are one of the most important activities to have your puppy participate in when they are still young and impressionable. They set your puppy up for a positive and happy approach to other dogs, people and environments.
The cost to participate is a mere $5/class or $20/unlimited until the pup reaches 20 weeks old. Companion Animal Hospital and Carie felt it was important to have this type of experience available to new puppy owners at a minimal cost. The money collected goes directly back into the class in treats, clickers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, oral rinse, toys, goodies for holidays and much more. In addition to being inexpensive, the topics for each class are based on the needs of the puppy owners participating at that time. If biting is a big issue for an owner that week, this will become one of the topics addressed. Their classes do not have a rigid outline they expect cover with a designated “start” and “end” date. Instead, their core topics such as nail trims, teeth brushing, sitting, beginning loose-leash walking, clicker training, and confidence building obstacle courses rotate in a loose 12 week cycle; again, this meets the immediate needs of the puppy owners participating. The Puppy Playgroup is held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 until 7:00. The puppies and their owners have been having so much fun in the first few classes that they have been going a bit longer! All members of the family are encouraged to attend. Companion Animal Hospital is located at 8205 S. Holly St. in Centennial. The clinic is located on the North West corner of County Line Road and Holly Street near the Rockies store, McDonalds and Monster Golf. Although it isn’t required, the veterinary clinic asks that you call ahead of time to put your puppy’s name on the list of attendees. If you are not a client of the clinic, you are still very much a welcome guest. You will need to bring a copy of your puppy’s current age-appropriate vaccination records. The clinic is open all day, 7 days a week from 8:30am until 5:30pm, except on Wednesdays when they are open until 7:00pm. They can be reached anytime during those hours at 303-779-5525. End
