Turkish Pianist Gülsin Onay amazes in Boston RecitalInternationally acclaimed Turkish pianist Gülsin Onay’s recital during the 12th Boston Turkish Film and Music Festival at the Museum of Fine Arts from the first moment received admiration and ended with enthusiastic applause of the classical music lovers, most having the opportunity to listen to pianist Onay for the first time.
By: Boston Turkish Film & Music Festival At the recital pianist Gülsin Onay performed an unforgettable program including compositions of Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, and one of her teachers, Ahmet Adnan Saygun. Described by music critics as “An Exceptional Chopin Interpreter” Gülsin Onay stated that she was very pleased with the interest she received in Boston. Onay said, “Boston has an incredibly warm audience. The music lovers whom I met for the first time received my music with great enthusiasm.” Erkut Gömülü, Director of the Boston Turkish Film and Music Festival (BTFMF), emphasized their pride for being the cause of an opportunity where Boston’s music lovers meet Gülsin Onay, a great international talent, for the first time. Gömülü also thanked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Consulate General of Turkey in Boston for their contribution and support in the organization of this recital.
