Follow on Google News | Gathering of world university leaders concludes in TaiwanThe 6th QS WorldClass seminar for world university leaders was held in Taipei, Taiwan and was a great success convening close to 100 university leaders from more than 60 institutions in 24 countries.
Taiwan’s Minister of Health, Dr Wen-Ta Chiu, opened the seminar with a lecture on Top-Quality Medical Education and Health Care in Taiwan. A multitude of other notable speakers also gave enlightening presentations on topics like Perception and reality of Rankings and Institutional and Entrepreneurial Research Excellence. “The seminar enhanced my knowledge about the rankings system and I have enjoyed the in-depth information from the case studies”, said Prof Ahmed K. Al-Rawahi, Chancellor of the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman. “QS WorldClass seminar gave us a good perspective in understanding the QS ranking system; also, we have met other academics from several countries”, said one of the participants at the seminar, Prof Sang-Hum Yoon from Yeungnam University, South Korea. Another participant, Prof Noorsaadah Abd Rahman from the University of Malaya, Malaysia said “I met many colleagues and gained a good view on their aspirations for their respective universities” The 7th QS WorldClass seminar next year will be co-organised by the University of KwaZulu-Natal at the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
