BAKER, La. - April 16, 2013 - PRLog -- P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }A:link { color: rgb(0, 0, 255); }The Boston Marathon is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious races and about 23,000 runners participated. The race honored the victims of the Newtown, Conn., shooting with a special mile marker in Monday's race. Boston Athletic Association president Joanne Flaminio previously said there was "special significance" to the fact that the race is 26.2 miles long and 26 people died at Sandy Hook Elementary School. What a terrible tragedy that happened Monday. “My prayers go up to the ones lost and the ones hurt,” says Bishop Ricky Sinclair (http://www.rickysinclair.us) of Miracle Place Church. “With all the news of bombings, shooting, and terrorism attacks taking place, I turn to the light of Jesus Christ.”

Matthew 24:12 says, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.”  We have to be so careful that our hearts don’t grow cold because of all the violence taking place around us in the world. It is natural for us to guard our hearts and emotions from getting hurt but in doing that we may miss out on an opportunity to help someone else. The Boston Marathon had a special dedication toward the victims of Sandy Hook and then tragedy turns around and affects the participants of the race. Some could say the two are related but either way, our minds can lean toward the thought if it wasn’t supporting another tragedy would this tragedy taken place. More than likely it would have taken place and the two are not related just coincidence.

“We cannot stop living life and enjoying what we love to do because of fear. The government can’t stop all the attacks. As Christians, our most powerful weapon against all the evil is prayer,” says Ricky Sinclair.  “We cannot forget to pray for the public servants who stepped up to help in the aftermath of this heinous tragedy.” Miracle Place Church joins in with the many Christians who are lifting up prayers to the victims and their families who were affected by the bombing.
