April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, NC (April 15, 2013) – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP was recognized for its outstanding pro bono service and commitment to the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem (GAL) program. Attorneys in the program help advocate for abused and neglected children who would otherwise go without legal representation in court.

The NCGAL volunteer attorneys are an integral part of the program’s purpose to keep juveniles in the state safe from harm. The advocates willingly stand and act on behalf of the 15,000+ children who are in need of legal services.

Parker Poe has been actively involved with the program for a number of years in handling pro bono appeals. In 2012, Parker Poe handled 25 percent of all the GAL appellate cases. This year, they have committed to maintaining that number while taking on new cases each month.
