Motivation Monday© ~ Tax Day 2013 is Taxing

100 years ago, the United States Tax Code was one page. That’s right, ONE PAGE ! Today, the US Tax Code is over 70,000 pages. The new Mantra, "Over Taxation by Over Representation!"

April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The highest tax rate was 7% compared to 35% now. However, the 35% does not incorporate State and local taxes as well as ongoing taxes on things such as gas or “Sin Taxes” on alcohol and cigarettes, never mind additional “luxury taxes,” then the tax rate might be closer to 70%.

So, what is the answer?

When people defend over taxation, they immediately want to put pictures of the old, needy and children in front of us to justify over taxation. The “Boston Tea Party” and the American Revolution were about “Taxation without representation.”  However, today, the mantra should be “Taxation, because of OVER Representation!”  That’s right.

Follow my logic.

What do farmers want to do?  That’s right, farm.

What do builders want to do? Build.

What do “Law Makers” want to do?  Make laws.  And lots of them.

They continue to make laws to justify their existence. How do you get from ONE PAGE of simple tax code to 70,000 pages? “Over Representation!”  At every level of government from village government to The President of The United States of America, we, the taxpayers are paying the bill.  And regardless of how high our taxes go, there always seems to be a justification by putting the needs of children, the needy and the elderly in front of us, saying “what about them?”  In the meantime, the government at all levels continues to expand and grow, as do their salaries.

Many of you have heard or used the phrase, the “tipping point.”  Well, we are on the verge of several “tipping points” that may change America forever.

The expansion and cost of government and government services has created a $16 trillion debt, which has interest that grows every single second of every single day. Anyone that has ever had Credit Card debt, has experienced firsthand that at some point you have a hard time keeping up with the interest payments and never get to the actual principal. We are coming dangerously close to the “tipping point” that 100% of our Gross Domestic Product will not be enough to pay just our interest on that $16 trillion.  That’s right.  100% of our GDP, 100% of ALL that we create and generate in America annually will not be enough to pay just our interest.

The other critical “tipping point” is that we are about to surpass 50% of ALL Americans working for the government or some form of the government.  What does that mean?

Well. Think about how the size of government continues to grow.  Each one of those workers has a spouse, parents and children. Now think of a “reformer” that wants to come in and rescue us from this ever growing bacteria, that will take over our country. A “reformer” will have to be someone that wants to decrease the size of government so that we the taxpayers don’t have to carry such a burden.  Who do you think all of the government workers are going to vote for?

That’s right.  Anyone that nurses off the public and gets pensions, retirement, COLA, STEPS, 4 days on and 3 days off, summers off and Binding Arbitration, do you think they will ever vote for someone that wants to create a reasonable balance.  Do you think they will vote for someone that is going to cut any of these benefits?  That’s right.  No Way !

So, once again, this dangerous “tipping point,” is that once we have over 50% of the population of America working for some form of government or being paid by the taxpayers, we will effectively become a “Socialist” country.

Follow me on this, because it is very, very important.

America was built on “free enterprise.”  Businesses competed and grew.  With competition you have advancement and creativity. You have businesses competing for the most talented people and willing to pay them for their unique abilities that in some cases have changed society.  This is what has made America great.

When you take away that motivation to compete.  When you take away the reason for increasing performance standards and trying to excel.  When you have most of society focusing on working as little as possible and getting paid by the government, so that they can have a part time private sector job to make extra money, you have a problem.

How many government run organizations provide a service at a profit?  How many government run projects are on time and on budget?  They aren’t, because there is no incentive to do so.

Small business owners.  Where are you in this argument?  What about you?  Many small business owners work 6 or 7 days a week for years on end to make a living. You pay your taxes in order to stay in business. Local governments fine you and give you fees that you need to pay in order to keep them in business, but what about you?  Who is looking out for you? Is there a “union” for small businesses? “Progressives,” which definitely does not mean “progressive thinking,” would have you believe that you did not build your business, that they helped with all their fines and penalties and fees.  There is no unifying body or “rallying cry” for small business owners.

Small business owners.  You are the “Golden Goose.” You are the “ATM” for the “progressive” movement.  You and your taxes that you pay without question and without hesitation, because you need to stay in business and you cannot take time off to question the taxes or hire attorneys, your taxes are what keep America moving and the “tax and spend progressives” are counting on it.

Small business owners, you are on the “gerbil wheel” of life and the “progressive” / “Socialist” government movement won’t stop until you decide you have had enough.

Behind the pictures of the needy, elderly and children hide government workers that are making over $100,000 a year and working less and less time. They hide behind the needy like the Taliban hide amongst their women and children, because society is afraid to say or do anything, because the “progressives” will make it look like you’re against taking care of those that need help the most.

Today’s Motivation Monday is a request for Small Business Owners to wake up.  Yes.  Pay your taxes.  Yes, obey the law, but be aware that you are being taking advantage of and if you do not unite at some point and work together to tell this progressive, tax and spend government that you want more accountability and less spending, you may very well miss the opportunity to change the direction of America and our future.  Our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren will pay the price for our unwillingness to fight for them.

Small business owners.  You account for roughly 70% of America’s GDP.  Without you, this engine we call the American economy does not work.  You must make a stand, before it’s too late.
