MDC Eco Cleaning Earns ISO 14001 Accreditation

EDINBURGH, Scotland - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Local cleaning company MDC Eco Cleaning announces they have earned the ISO 14001 Accreditation through QMS on 2 April 2013.  Their newest accreditation comes in the same week that MDC Eco Cleaning became a Corporate Member with the British Institute of Cleaning Science, a body that helps to govern and educate the cleaning business community.
The ISO 14001 is designed to give companies, from large firms down to small businesses, the ability to track and decrease their environmental impact.  This is achieved by the company's creation of an Environmental Management System, including a company environmental policy and the tracking and reporting on non-compliance with the company's policy.  Such measures enacted include proper disposal and recycling of waste, both at job sites and in the office; utilising smart transport and minimising it where possible, keeping vehicles serviced to improve their efficiency; and working with their suppliers and customers to minimise their own environmental impact through recycling. MDC Eco Cleaning earned their ISO 14001 Accreditation through the help of QMS, one of the leading certification bodies in the UK.  QMS assists corporations and helps them achieve their qualifications quickly, by identifying the changes that need to be made and by providing them with templates to help make those changes easier.
MDC Eco Cleaning is making strides to improve their services, from management down to each individual cleaner.  This has been exhibited not only in their ISO 14001 Accreditation, but in their earlier accomplishments of being awarded the ISO 9001 and safecontractor Accreditation.  
While MDC Eco Cleaning has always used environmentally-friendly products and works with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to properly dispose of waste, they wanted to close any gaps in their own efforts to conduct business with the least amount of environmental impact.  In addition to the guidelines set out in the Environmental Management System, they are also utilising paperless systems to track employees' attendance, serving prospective clients with bids and contracts via email, and by beginning a more rigorous recycling program with their end of tenancy cleaning services.  MDC Eco Cleaning hopes that all of the steps they have taken to earn the ISO 14001 and beyond will not only help to decrease their own environmental impact, but also set an example for other cleaning services in Edinburgh.
