In 2012 they sold over 50,000 books and paid over $25,000 in royalties. Recently, the American Christian Fiction Writers recognized LPC as an approved ACFW publisher.
By: Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas LPC pays its authors monthly. "One of our goals is to change the book publishing culture," Jones says, "and part of that change is how and when authors are paid. We believe authors should be paid promptly for their work." LPC authors include Christy Award winners and new writers whose books found their first home with the small press. "We have one standard for judging a work," says Jones. "Is it biblical? Not biblical as in preaching or teaching, but rather, could the story, scenes, and theme be overlaid with Old and New Testament narratives? We we also want it to be well-written. We believe there is a large market for stories that reflect these qualites." American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) promotes Christian Fiction through developing the skills of its authors, educating them in the market, and serving as an advocate in the traditional publishing industry.
