Festival of Hope 2013 - The Pink Blue Fest at DLF City Club

GURGAON, India - April 14, 2013 - PRLog -- 13th March 2013, Gurgaon: 100 degrees has been working on creating awareness for all types of Cancer via various fashion events for the last one year.

This year, we want to touch even more people and need your help to do so.

On 4th May 2013, we will host our second ‘Festival of Hope – The Pink Blue Fest’, showcasing fashions from select designers on models who are all breast cancer reconstruction patients. ‘Men Against Breast Cancer’ – applaud the men who have stood tall and strong for the women they love when breast cancer strikes a female loved one.

The Pink Blue Fest will be held in association with The Indian Cancer Society at The DLF City Club, Gurgaon.

Not every woman is a candidate for reconstruction or is even interested in it, but far too few get the information they deserve today. Our goal is to significantly increase the dismal number of breast cancer patients who are ever even offered a consultation about reconstruction after the physical and emotional stress of their cancer treatment. We are looking for medical partners who are actively involved in research in the field of breast cancer reconstruction awareness. Unlike other breast cancer charities that raise money for multiple breast cancer research organizations, The Pink Blue Fest will distinguished by a close collaboration with a team of Plastic Surgeons who provide comprehensive breast cancer reconstruction services. The cultural and socioeconomic demographic of their practice provides a unique opportunity for offering awareness and screening information to a population that is well educated but not aware. This year we hope to be able to fund a research grant to award to a deserving breast cancer researcher working on access to care issues via the Indian Cancer Society.

The success of any event is credited largely to the sponsors who lend their names and financial support.
