Sola Coffee Cafe receives national recognition as one of America's Best Coffee Shops

RALEIGH, N.C. - April 12, 2013 - PRLog -- The Daily Meal recently unveiled their America's Best Coffee Shops list, and Raleigh, NC start-up Sola Coffee Cafe ranked 32nd. The Daily Meal editors sought to distinguish the best independent coffee shops by measuring the quality of coffee and food, atmosphere, customer service, and the "unique factor". The list was based their list upon the ratings of coffee aficionados, ranging from coffee bloggers, roasters, shop owners, baristas and educators. The Raleigh based company made it down to a list of 150 coffee shops from coast to coast, and eventually into the Top 33 list.

Sola owners, John and Jeanne Luther, were surprised by the selection, commenting: "here we are celebrating our 1st year anniversary and out of the blue we get notification that some group in NYC that wants a picture of our shop. Then, we find out that we have been voted one of America's top shops and the only one in North Carolina." John added, "There are so many great shops in the area, and to be cited for this award is humbling to say the least. Our staff is unparalleled in their desire for perfect coffee, food and caring for our guests, and my wife has done an incredible job decorating this old bank to make it unique from anything else in the Triangle.”

The key to our success is that we take an ordinary daily experience and make it extraordinary. We believe our coffee and food is exceptional. Counter Culture and Rishi Teas procure some of the best coffees and teas in the world from small sustainable farms. “People can’t believe how good our coffee tastes and that goes back to the quality of Counter Culture’s coffees and the talents of our baristas”, says John. Our food is local and organic when possible. Boars Head meats are delicious compared to our competition. Our homemade dressings, condiments, and syrups are unparalleled.  Great Harvest bread is the best. People drink coffee and food every day. We take this ordinary experience and raise the bar by loving and caring for our guests. “We know their names and their stories”, says John and “that makes a difference making it extra ordinary.”

We will continue to fine-tune our offerings. We want to consistently remake ourselves in small ways that raise the bar of the unique experience that our guests enjoy each day.

Upcoming offerings- a multitude of flavors for our Hot Minis, whole fruit smoothies, Italian sodas from fresh fruit, and an evening menu with freshly prepared pizzas matched with a new offering in May: local craft beers and unique wines from small farms in Europe.

We also continue to bring in local singer/songwriters on Fridays and Saturdays, and provide on and off-site catering.
