"I’m really excited to launch my new bedtime storybook ‘The Dream’ at the LA Times Festival of Books.  It’s going to be a memorable experience.  I'm also looking forward to sitting in on some great panels and talking with other Bestselling Authors and celebrities in attendance this year, like Paul Anka, Margaret Atwood, Carol Burnett, Cassandra Clare, Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), Jon Klassen, Demetri Martin, Heather McDonald, Danika McKellar, Debbie Reynolds, Molly Ringwald, John Scalzi, Tom Sizemore, and Nia Vardalos to name a few. Plus I’m looking forward to visiting some of the food trucks like Sky’s Gourmet Tacos." said Ryland. "I've got more surprise gifts to give out with my books, [Sun Gone Nova] and [The Dream] so I can't wait to meet other book lovers.”

'The Dream: A Bedtime Story’ by Evie Ryland is a children’s picture book for young readers in the vein of Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, and the works of Dr. Seuss.

The story is a journey through a world of fantasy. A boy on the verge of sleep is awoken by a loud noise only to discover a monster under his bed. To his surprise the monster takes him on a magical journey through a circus of sequentially numbered monsters seeking to bring joy to their audience of sleepy children. But perhaps in the end it was all a dream.

Ryland uses pen and ink techniques to create a surreal world of whimsical characters.
