Samsung Galaxy S3 is another flagship of the company that was released in 2012 with an aim to capture the smartphone market. This handset has been able to won great praise and appreciation in the last one year. It was sold in huge numbers all around the world thus increasing the market shares for Samsung Electronics. Its look was that attractive that the company gave a similar look to its new flagship device Samsung Galaxy S4 also but with some major enhancements in its features.

The Galaxy S3 is made up using polycarbonate material and is finished in a hyperglazed coating looks like a polished plastic. It feels lightweight when you hold it with your hands and on removing it is flexible and bendy. However, this flexibility is of no point to be noticed until it is clipped in its place i.e. on the rear of the phone. The corners of this handset are smooth and rounded with sharply cut edges of the glass on the front portion.

It is a thin and slim phone with a dimensional measurement of about 136.6 X 70.6 X 8.6 mm, weighing around 133 9 which makes it lighter in comparison to iPhone 4S. It has a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen capable of showing 16M colors. This display can give 1280 X 720 pixels resolution along with pixel density of 306 ppi. Samsung has provided this smartphone with TouchWiz user interface.

It runs on an android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich which is now upgradeable to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. This interface puts the buttons as virtual icons on the screen just like in Galaxy Nexus. There is a physical home button in the center of the bottom of phone’s face. It also includes nifty features such as face unlocks that matches you to a previously taken picture to launch your phone from idle.

There is a S Voice feature designed by Vlingo which is a voice recognition service after Apple’s Siri. Just like Siri, it’s not accurate and is server driven so it will not work without a reliable data connection. The Smart Stay uses its front facing camera that recognizes the eye pair looking at it and turns of the power to save battery. The Smart Call dials a contact number for you from the contacts detail screen.
