BMW Announces That 10 All-New Vehicles Will be Available by December 2014

BARRINGTON, Ill. - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Car shoppers in the Chicago area can expect to see a number of new options at dealerships like Motor Werks BMW (http://www.motorwerksbmwbarrington.com/dealership/about.htm) next year. The automaker plans to have 22 products on the road worldwide, including 10 vehicles that will be new models. Whether all of these different vehicles will be available in every market around the world is still up in the air, but what these vehicles are has been at least hinted at by BMW’s chief of research and development, Herbert Diess.

The vehicles that BMW is expected to put on the market by the end of next year include:

A new small crossover vehicle related to the X6 will likely debut. It will probably maintain much of the exterior styling and be called the BMW X4. In fact, the new crossover has been unveiled in concept form, and it looks like the mating of the larger X6 and a BMW 3-Series sedan.
BMW may be looking at producing some front-wheel drive vehicles. Classically, the automaker has stuck with rear-wheel drive for reasons of handling and weight distribution, but front-wheel drive has some advantages for drivers in inclement climates.
The BMW 4-Series is expected to be a sporty companion to the BMW 3-Series (http://www.motorwerksbmwbarrington.com/new-inventory/inde...). Both coupe and Gran Turismo configurations are expected to debut next year.
In a similar vein, a BMW 2-Series is on the horizon. Expect both a coupe and convertible variation of the 2-Series to share many features and styling cues with the 1-Series.
BMW is likely expand its electric vehicle lineup dramatically. This will include brand new vehicles, including probable wider distribution of the new ActiveE and production versions of the i3 and i8. Other existing BMW vehicles will likely be offered in electric variants, too.
