Chuck recently developed a pair of skis, complete with traditional bindings and alpine boots, and skied Jaws, a big wave on Maui. Chuck has been called the most versatile extreme athlete on the planet. He competes at the pro level in five sports: stand up paddling, tow-in surfing, kite surfing, skiing and snowboarding. Up until recently Chuck held the record for skiing off the biggest cliff at 142ft. Chuck's image has graced the cover of numerous magazines, including Powder Magazine, Ski Magazine and Adventure Sports Journal. His recent video of wave skiing Jaws was featured on "Good Morning America", and "Salomon Freeski TV". Chuck was the first ever to Stand-up surf the Cortes Banks, a reef 100 miles off the California coast. He has also paddled among great white sharks in San Onofre, CA. In all ways, Chuck is a legendary waterman. Chuck is currently working with the Naish brand on their Stand-up team. He's coaching young surfers as Naish Stand Up Team Captain. In addition to traditional coaching, Chuck mentors young athletes on how to use social media and other outlets to their best advantage. This mentoring position suits Chuck's passion well. Chuck travels between Hawaii and California on a regular basis, following the swell in the Pacific and snowstorms in the Sierras. He currently hopes to develop wave skiing technology in order to take on bigger waves and ultimately ski a barrel. “The Edge” airs live on Wednesdays at 8 AM Pacific / 10 AM Central / 11 AM Eastern on The VoiceAmerica Sports Channel.
