By: Exposed PR “Grow Downtown” will include garden previews showing future plans for Flagler Garden. Whole Foods Market will sell sangria, and has generously agreed to match all proceeds from their sales, and make a donation to the garden. Flagler Garden will also raffle off a garden plot, a $500 value that guarantees a spot for Founding Gardeners in their first year. While Founding Gardener sponsorship of $500 helps fund construction and guarantees a plot for year one, going forward, plots will lease for approximately $85 per year. Currently, Flagler Garden is in the fundraising stage and will be the first community garden in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. To date, $12,592 has been raised which includes profits from Night Owl Market events, private donations, and a state grant. $36,355 is needed to complete Phase 1, which will provide an urban educating and social space where locals and visitors can both escape the fast-paced downtown lifestyle and embrace nature and green living. Additional sponsors include Exposed PR, Indie Craft Bazaar, and Flagler Village.
