To Serve and Celebrate People on the Autism Spectrum through Art, Recreation and Community
With heart and enthusiasm, KindTree - Autism Rocks, an all volunteer organization, promotes activities to enhance the lives of persons with Autism.
We work to develop the potential of artists with autism through scholarships, production assistance, promotion, and profit sharing. KindTree - Autism Rocks sponsors artists with autism, collects and exhibits their works at a variety of venues, the most notable being the annual exhibition, “Autism Artism”. KindTree - Autism Rocks publishes and distributes paintings by its artists in the form of original greeting cards. Other displays are arranged as opportunities become available.
We provide recreational activities seeking to promote communitas, a sense of inclusion while having fun. The annual autism camp is the core and founding activity of KindTree - Autism Rocks. Seasonal events, such as the October Mask Making Party, are held as appropriate. All seek to be fun and instill positive attitudes regarding the experience of autism, as championed by the phrase “Autism Rocks!”
We create Community for people with autism and those who support them. KindTree - Autism Rocks’ endeavors seek to instill a true sense of self through the support of a caring and understanding community, through the power of respect and honor for an individual with their own voice in their own lives. To achieve this end, KindTree - Autism Rocks produces talent shows, community news publications, living skills supports and more. All activities of KindTree - Autism Rocks, including art, shows, sales, and recreational activities, are planned to raise awareness and understanding of autism in the wider community.
