New Hampshire’s Gretchen and the Pickpockets has won the Regional Hard Rock Rising Battle
New Hampshire’s own Gretchen and the Pickpockets has earned a spot as one of the top 100 bands in the world and is now representing New England, competing for a chance to perform across the Globe.
Gretchen and the Pickpockets won out their first live round on a snow-warned evening in March 2013. This past Thursday night, April 4th, they competed against other finalists to become the New England Champion. Judges of the Battle of the Bands Final Round included Paul Geary (Extreme, signed Godsmack), Ernie Boch, Jr (Guitarist, music promoter, Cars!). Charlie Farren (The Joe Perry Project , FARRENHEIT), Gary Cherone (New! Extreme, Van Halen) and Ralph Jaccodine (Ralph Jaccodine Management). The Final Battle was hosted by Mix 104.1′s Afternoon Crew, Gregg Daniels, Fast Freddy & Sue Brady!
They now join a prestigious group of the top global bands winners from places like Japan, London, Buenos Aires, Guatemala, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Beirut and Australia who showed their talent to rise above over 12,000 other bands. These regional winners will now compete in two more rounds of voting: online and then with an elite group of judges. Starting the next phase, fan voting on participating Hard Rock Facebook pages will narrow down the ninety-six local winners to the top twenty-five bands. Once determined, an esteemed panel of celebrity judges and music industry professionals will select the Grand Prize winner. Two runner-up bands will each receive new music equipment and gear valued at $10,000. For full rules and a list of participating locations, visit www.facebook.com/
