Omnicom Press Author Analyzes Early News of Berezovsky's Death

Was the former Russian tycoon's death murder or suicide? Author examines the facts in newly published report.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - April 8, 2013 - PRLog -- News reports "failed the test of accuracy in reporting the recent death of outlaw Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky," says William Dunkerley.

Dunkerley is the author of The Phony Litvinenko Murder published by Omnicom Press. The book examines mainstream news reports that claimed Litvinenko was a former spy murdered with radioactive polonium on orders of Russian president Vladimir Putin. Dunkerley says, "Those reports were based on fabrications produced by Berezovsky and are not factual."

The Berezovsky death coverage "played up highly speculative allegations that weren't backed up by facts," Dunkerley explained. He documents instances of that in a report published by the American University in Moscow titled, "Berezovsky Murdered by Journalists." Dunkerley adds that he does not "seriously suggest that Berezovsky was physically murdered by these journalists." "What they did was to murder the news story," he says.

One major issue, Dunkerley says is "whether Berezovsky's death was a murder or a suicide." The Thames Valley Police (UK) reported, "We do not have any evidence at this stage to suggest third party involvement." But Dunkerley cites a headline from the Irish Independent that read, "No suicide, says Litvinenko's wife." But, Dunkerley points out, "they did not tell us how she could have possibly known that."

In his report Dunkerley observes, "Why would the Independent present the wild claim of Mrs. Litvinenko's? She was untruthful before about her husband's (Alexander Litvinenko) involvement with British intelligence services. Why report what she says now about something which she has no visible means of knowing?"

Further explanation is given in Dunkerley's report which can be viewed on the website of the American University in Moscow at: http://us-russia.org/1140-berezovsky-murdered-by-journali...
