By: Nauticalia But it doesn’t stop there, Nauticalia having taken on a brand new charity partner for 2013. This year’s beneficiary is the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth. After four years of construction, the new, state of the art museum is now open to the public and 19,000 artefacts brought up from the seabed can be seen in all their glory. However, another four years of painstaking work to dry out the ship timbers will now be undertaken so that visitors can see the ship without having to look through protective glass. As a key part of England’s Tudor heritage, it is important that this unique ship is as accessible as possible. It has taken over 30 years to get to this point, having first been uncovered in Portsmouth harbour in 1982, but soon the general public will be able to enjoy the Mary Rose in all its glory. This important work needs constant funding though, and that is where Nauticalia comes in. Their customers have the opportunity to help raise money for this fantastic exhibit through generous donations. Nauticalia also has a range of Mary Rose themed products to inspire customers to find out more about this wonderful piece of English heritage. Nauticalia is the first place to go for nautical memorabilia of any kind, and help many enthusiasts to find a wide range of suitable products and gifts.
