The 2015 Mazda3 Will be Arriving at Dealerships Later This Year

In an extremely early release Mazda will release the new compact car before the end of this year.

TINLEY PARK, Ill. - April 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 Mazda3 flew off the lots of dealerships like Community Mazda of Tinley Park (http://www.communitymazda.com/company-info/about-us) for good reason. This compact car, which is available as a sedan or a hatchback, offers impressive fuel economy, plenty of functionality, and engaging driving dynamics. It was Mazda’s best seller — and in a bid to further boost sales in the United States, the next generation will be coming out a bit sooner than expected. The third generation of the Mazda3 will debut as a 2015 model as early as this fall.

While Mazda has not announced details on the 2015 Mazda3, it seems likely that they will continue to push their Skyactiv technology. This likely means that the Skyactiv 2.0L 155-hp four-cylinder engine and Skyactiv six-speed transmissions will carry over — that powertrain was just introduced in 2012, so it’s unlikely to be replaced so soon. It is also possible that the 184-hp 2.5L four-cylinder engine that’s currently available in the Mazda6, will see use in the Mazda3. There is also a Skyactiv turbodiesel engine, which will see use in the Mazda6 sedan (http://www.communitymazda.com/new-inventory?Model=Mazda6#...), and could also make its way into the smaller Mazda3. One of these engines might also be intended to power the next generation of the Mazdaspeed3 performance model.

Outside, the Mazda6 will fall in line with the rest of the Mazda lineup and take design cues from the Kodo design language. This will probably include dramatic fender flares and accent lines, a longer hood, and a redesigned rear end. So far, the automotive media has only spotted a hatchback test mule on public roads, so it is unclear whether or not the sedan will be available or how it will look.

The base price for the new 2015 Mazda3 will likely be between $17,000 and $25,000. Inside the cabin, it’s uncertain what new technology Mazda will offer, but advancements in communications and entertainment technology are to be expected. With the 2014 Mazda6 and the Mazda CX9 already making their way to dealerships, it isn’t terribly surprising that the next generation of the Mazda3 isn’t far behind.
