Kevin Pietersen to miss IPL season 6

April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Kevin Pietersen has been ruled out of IPL season 6 starting 3rd April, 2013 due to a knee injury. KP has gone through several problems off and on pitch in the last 12 months.

Pietersen played a vital role in Daredevils’ campaign last year when they topped the points table at the end of the league phase. The English batsman made 305 runs, including a century against Deccan Chargers, which were the third-best figures for the side behind former captain Virender Sehwag and the now captain-in-charge Mahela Jayawardene. Mascarenhas who has become a freelance cricketer sees more English players tilting towards the cash-rich event. Unfortunately for the English players, IPL clashes with their domestic season, leaving the centrally-contracted players, unlike Mascarenhas, in a spot. “Look, there is so much cricket happening everywhere, it is very difficult to see the ICC creating a separate window for IPL. But I see more and more international players coming to India, including the English. It is only a matter of time.”
