Things Spice Up On This Week’s Episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, Season 5

IBG Laboratories, The Makers of Colorevolution Cosmetics, is offering one contestant a lifetime supply of cosmetics to the next superstar on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Season 5.

CORONA DEL MAR, Calif. - April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – The beginning of this week marked Logo TV’s ninth episode of the fifth season of Rupaul’s Drag Race, “Drama Queens” airing on Monday April 1, 2013.

“Drama Queens” features the remaining six contestants competing to become America’s next fabulous drag queen and winner of the grand prize including: a lifetime supply of Colorevolution Cosmetics, a one-of-a-kind trip, courtesy of AlandChuckTravel.com, the honor of headlining the drag race tour, featuring Absolute Vodka; cocktails perfected and a “cash money honey” prize of $100,000.

Still sad from the elimination of their beloved, Ivy Winters, Ru comes at the queens with this week’s mini-challenge which is very fittingly titled, “Cry Me a River”. In this challenge, the women must sit in a pow-wow and tell sob stories as they cry on cue.  To enhance the dramatic effect of their waterworks display, the queens make sure to apply extra layers of Colorevolution’s non-waterproof mascara. Of the tales told, some are surprisingly sad while others are comically fake, but in the end, Detox and Alyssa win this emotionally charged mini-challenge.

Because they won, both Detox and Alyssa have the honor of leading a team in this week’s main challenge of performing scenes from one of two telenovelas titled, “Casa de Locas” and “Ella no es Dama”. To spice things up a bit, Ru tells the queens that the male lead in each episode will be played by the handsome Latino, Wilmer Valderrama and be directed by telenovela royalty, Maria Conchita Alanso. As they begin filming, some queens are all star-struck and tongue-tied when Wilmer enters the scene, making it even more difficult to control their exaggerated accents. Most girls however, seem to be in their element as their over-dramatic acting style is perfect for the telenovela genre.

When the shoot wraps up and it comes time to watch the final cuts, no team seems to do better than the other; however, Ru does pick out the worst of the worst to lip sync for their lives in the final showdown. Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese both give everything they’ve got during this final performance which creates the ultimate suspense as RuPaul decides who must go. In the end, Alyssa is eliminated and must sashay away.

In addition to Colorevolution being featured throughout the 5th season of RuPaul's Drag Race; IBG Laboratories, the makers of Colorevolution, is collaborating with RuPaul on specialized private-label items that will be coming in 2013.

Viewers can catch the race with Colorevolution and RuPaul on LOGO channel on Mondays 9/8pm Central.

With the release of the new TV show there will also be a new television advertising campaign featuring Colorevolution. The ad campaign will provide a few lucky winners with over $1200 worth of makeup and application training. Details to enter to win will be on the TV commercial to coincide with the airing of the show.
