Pentair unveils its newest innovations at the WQA-Aquatech
New products reflect the future of water treatment for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
By: Pentair Filtration & Process
Pentair’s filtration and process business has strengthened its ability to develop new products that are changing the shape of the industry. It now boasts one of the largest portfolios of products for the global residential, commercial and industrial market segments. “With a growing need for products that perform in keeping with environmental changes, as well as the ever increasing demand for products that are ‘smart’, Pentair is now uniquely positioned to respond to these trends across applications,”
For the residential space, Pentair has concentrated on significant developments in its valves and filtration lines. The company has made a commitment to simplifying its product selection process within its valves line. Pentair’s recently launched 5800 valve features the XTR2 controller with one of the largest, color touchscreen displays in the industry. The controller is simple, intuitive and reliable, and still offers the same foundational features that have made the XTR electronic controller one of the best in the market. In addition, the modularity of the valve allows for several electronic options, including the LXT, SXT, and XTR2 to be offered on one valve, versus the historic product which required multiple valves to do the same thing. As a result, customers will enjoy significantly less carrying costs.
Pentair also unveiled its new Pentek® DFX Series Diamond Flow™ filter cartridges which consists of a premium polypropylene cartridge fused together with a high quality carbon block. The combination of both sediment and carbon cartridge needs into one filter reduces the amount of space used under a sink and saves the consumer money. The product also helps to save the installer time, as there is one less cartridge to change.
For the commercial market segment, Pentair is also featuring its revolutionary Hybrid DI™ system with Crosscharge Technology™, a capacitive deionization system used for commercial water treatment. It is able to deliver the combined benefits of reverse osmosis water and softened water without the use of salt. The system also features an intuitive, touchscreen controller that monitors its complex functions in an easy-to-understand interface. And, because of the electrochemical process, there is only a once-per-year maintenance requirement, which makes the customer’s management of the product far more efficient. Products can only be identified as having this technology inside, when the Pentair® Crosscharge™
Pentair Everpure® is displaying the ALL NEW Everpure 2CLM and 2CLM-S, and the Eltek™ Water Block, three of its five new innovations to be featured at the show, that are sold within the office coffee and water market segment. Both the 2CLM and 2CLM-S filter cartridges were created to reduce chloromines which have a negative impact on the taste of water and one’s coffee experience. The 2CLM-S comes with the added benefit of scale reduction which protects brewing equipment from potentially damaging lime scale buildup. These quick change filters fit existing Everpure filter heads. The compact, yet high-performance designs meet the specific needs of the office coffee and water market segment, offering Pentair customers a cost-efficient solution for chloramines reduction.
Pentair also launched the Eltek™ Water Block, a revolutionary overflow safety device for office coffee and water applications. The operator sets the device to control the maximum consumption of water between 5 and 50 litres, whatever is needed to support a piece of water-using equipment. Its function is to measure the number of litres of water that have passed through it. If the quantity exceeds the set value, the Water Block stops the flow to prevent flooding and keeps this safety condition until an operator resets the device. The Water Block is cost effective insurance, providing valuable office flood protection for about the cost of a coffee airpot.
Pentair has also expanded its portfolio of products to include a robust industrial filtration line. These products cover the full range of industrial filtration needs for water and fluids. And, within the line, there will be a variety of new innovations emerging.
Pentair Ltd. (www.pentair.com) delivers industry-leading products, services and solutions for its customers’ diverse needs in water and other fluids, thermal management and equipment protection. With pro forma 2012 revenues of nearly $8 billion, Pentair employs more than 30,000 people worldwide.
