The Expect Miracles Foundation’s Miracle Maker Leadership Council Awards a Grant to The SAMFund

BOSTON - April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Expect Miracles Foundation is one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within the financial services industry, receiving support from top financial services firms and industry luminaries. (http://www.expectmiraclesfoundation.org/) The Miracle Maker Leadership Council (MMLC) was established to empower the Foundation's top donors to have a more personal and significant role in the impact of their gifts. The MMLC is a select group of current and future leaders in the financial community whose mission is to direct funding to cancer fighting causes where such support in not always readily available. The MMLC is funded through individual contributions from MMLC members, who congregate annually to review grant applications, deliberate, and select funding award recipients.

Through direct financial assistance as well as online support, The SAMFund for Young Adult Survivors of Cancer gives young adult survivors the tools and resources to overcome their financial challenges and move forward with their lives. Since 2005, we’ve awarded $900,000 in grants to hundreds of young adults across the country and hosted free Webinars on a range of topics including reducing medical debt, family building options and employment challenges, among others.


"The 2013 Expect Miracles Foundation grant enables us to expand our webinar series to more young adult cancer survivors seeking advice about managing financial debt due to their cancer experience, building investment programs for the future, and dealing with employment and insurance challenges," said Samantha Watson, Executive Director of The SAMFund (http://www.thesamfund.org). "We will use this grant to enable all young adult cancer survivors to have access to this vital information."
