Drive Inc Creates 10k New Customers for Catalina Flyer With No Cost Marketing Campaign

Two days ago Drive Inc relaunched the promotional marketing campaign that successfully brought Newport Beach's Catalina Flyer 10,000 customers, and $150,000 in ticket sales in 2011.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- 2011 was a tough year for many businesses, and Newport Beach's Catalina Flyer was no exception. The Catalina Flyer's Director Of Marketing says the Flyer was, "Experiencing such a downturn that we questioned our business model."

Enter Drive Inc, a Riverside based promotional marketing firm that specializes in using companies unused inventory to drive new customers through their clients doors. Together, Drive's Regional Account Manager, Executive Directors, and Catalina Flyer's Director of Marketing created a promotional package including 2 children's round trip tickets, and 6 two for one adult round trip tickets to Catalina Island. Drive handled the design and print, using the Flyer's branding and logos, and charging the Flyer nothing. They then sent their marketing team to meet with small and medium sized businesses throughout the Inland Empire and Orange County, sharing the promotion with tens of thousands of potential customers.

"The results were absolutely staggering," says Ali Helmboldt, one of Drive's Executive Directors, "We pride ourselves in our ability to create new customers but the Flyer's experience really solidifies what our no cost marketing can do for a client."

The Catalina Flyer's Director of Marketing goes on to calculate the results from 2011, in detail:
• Exposure to 10,000 customers in the immediate market
• 7,000 redemptions in 9mos.
• Over $150,000 in ticket revenue, of which 80% is predicted to be new business
• Two full price adult admissions were redeemed for every free child's admission
• Less than 10 unsatisfied transactions out of 10,000

It is no surprise, with those results, that the Flyer has asked Drive to relaunch the campaign for 2013. Two years ago, the Flyer used Drive because of the economic impact on their business. They continue to work with Drive because, "Our amazing ridership increase has everyone at our company looking forward to a continuing partnership."
