Mt. Gox to Sell Litecoin in Additions to Bitcoin

Mt. Gox preparing to add litecoin to its menu of virtual currencies, in addition to being the number one exchange for bitcoin trading.

NEW YORK - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Rumours and speculation about Mt. Gox up and coming addition to its menu of virtual currencies, litecoin, a much more efficient to use crypto currency, all over message boards and exchanges today. The price has been rising steadily, reaching a high of 1.99 USD/LTC on btc-e.com.

Althought, Mt. Gox has not officially announced the move, their database seems to be setup for support of the fledgling currency litecoin, as can be seen at this data link: https://data.mtgox.com/api/2/LTCUSD/money/ticker

When compared to another currency such as NMC, it seems that programmers are indeed preparing to launch trading in bitcoin. See https://data.mtgox.com/api/2/NMCUSD/money/ticker for comparison.

Litecoin is programmed to have a cap on the number of coins that will ever be produced of "roughly 4 times as many units as Bitcoin, or about 84 million litecoins." ( See http://www.litecoin.org)

Crypto investors and speculators have been buying steadily over the last two weeks, resulting in a massive run up in the price of the currency against the USD. Mt. Gox support could be the first step in widespread adoption and use by merchants and payment processors similar to that of bitcoin.
