Kudos to Google for mystifying Likeability.com with April Fools Joke

“It's great to see all that traffic from the International Space Station, but don't they have more important things to worry about?”

HUNT VALLEY, Md. - April 1, 2013 - PRLog -- In the Internet business, traffic is everything, and http://Likeability.com is no exception. Analyzing traffic is a barometer for what is going right or wrong, and this data is critical. That being said, one can imagine the surprise to discover that 41 concurrent users have been actively on the site all morning from, of all places, The International Space Station.

Like most techies, the Likeability team spent most of the morning trying to isolate how this could be. The phones were buzzing, e-mails were flying, and no one could prove it wasn’t actually happening. The thought that NASA might have decided they needed a little more fun in their daily lives was appealing, yet a little frightening at the same time. We were glad to have them on the site, but didn’t they have something better to do? One would hope so anyway.

Suddenly it clicked. Wait a minute… Today is April 1st, right? In other words “April Fools Day”. Is it possible that’s what this mystery really was – a practical joke being played on us by none other than Google? Turns out, that’s exactly what it was.

Despite having spent a fair amount of time trying to make sense of it, our team does have a good sense of humor and appreciate a good joke. For that, we'll say Kudos to Google. They got us. Nice work…
