Ovid's Stories Come to Life in Art and Words

ARLINGTON, Va. - March 29, 2013 - PRLog -- (Arlington, Virginia) A lavishly illustrated keepsake edition of Ovid’s Metamorphoses is being developed by Richer Resources Publications illustrator Ian Crowe, who has created cover art for more than 20 of the company’s popular classics titles.

Crowe, a California artist and graphic designer, plans to depict each of Ovid’s more than 100 stories. The illustrations will be accompanied by short excerpts or summaries of the stories, making the whole of this seminal work more readily accessible to today’s visually oriented students and other readers.

“Ovid's epic poem is extremely important,” says Crowe. “Besides being the best (often, the only) source of the greatest mythology of all time, Metamorphoses was an incomparable influence to some of the greatest storytellers since the Roman Empire was founded,” including Shakespeare.
