Welcome Spring, Mexican Style with the BCAE

March 25, 2013 - PRLog -- WHAT:             With warm weather just around the corner and Cinco de Mayo just a month away, fun, fresh and festive recipe ideas are a must for any occasion. To help prepare for all entertaining needs, the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is helping students learn how to make a nacho bar that will be the envy of the neighborhood. But it takes more than nachos to make a meal, so the BCAE is teaching students how to make a Mexican feast, complete with margaritas. By the end of these two BCAE classes, students will be ready to take on spring with delicious new foods and cocktails to add to their cooking repertoire.
                       
        Nacho, Nacho Man: Mexican Favorites
                       Envy the nachos at the local bar? Need a new soup to serve at a dinner party? With the help of BCAE instructor, Dustin Rennells, and just a couple of hours students will learn all of the tools necessary to make an impressive at-home nacho bar, complete with instruction on how to roast chilies and tomatoes to make delicious homemade salsa, authentic guacamole and spicy cheese dip. Dustin will also teach students how to transform their homemade salsa into a base for tortilla soup and Mexican red rice. Class will end on a sweet note, with a cup of rich and slightly spicy Mexican hot chocolate.

                       Magnificent Mexican: Mexican Cuisine & Margaritas with Erwin Ramos
                       Olé and Olecito Chef and Owner, Erwin Ramos, makes Mexican food easy as he takes it out of the restaurant and brings it to the BCAE’s kitchen for all to learn. In April’s monthly installment of “Magnificent Mexican,” Erwin once again shares his intensive knowledge of Mexican cooking and inspirations from his travels. Students will prepare three street-inspired dishes, complete with a signature margarita, that will leave family and friends thinking they just landed on the sizzling south of the border streets.
