Ashworth College, a leading online school, awards a Saline, Michigan native the 2013 ACCESS Scholarship award to enroll in wedding planner courses.

NORCROSS, Ga. - March 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu), a leading online school, awarded Saline, MI resident Devyn Treaster as a recipient of the 2013 ACCESS Scholarship award.

The Ashworth College Continuing Education for Student Success (ACCESS) Scholarship program was developed in order to award up to $25,000 each year to new and prospective diploma and degree students interested in pursuing their education online in one of Ashworth College’s 115+ diploma, degree and online certificate programs.

Treaster planned her first wedding in 1983 and since then, she’s fallen in love with the event planning career field. Aside from weddings, Treaster recently coordinated a memorial service for her brother which involved planning the service and menu. Thanks to this desire to plan and host events, Treater will use her scholarship to study in Ashworth’s Wedding Planner courses.

“It’s been said ‘it’s never too late to become what you were supposed to be,’” said Treater. “I want to help make the wedding of someone’s dreams become a reality, to see the look of complete joy on their faces as they watch the most important day of their lives unfold before them and have it be more spectacular than they could have imagined.”

Ashworth College’s Wedding Planner courses help students prepare for certification by the Association of Bridal Consultants and teach students about popular wedding customs and traditions, selecting venues, hiring supplies, maintaining schedules, budgeting finances and more.

“Education can take skills - and income - to the next level. We’re excited that through the ACCESS Scholarship program we can help create learning opportunities for those students needing something tailored to their specific situation or needs,” said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, Ashworth College’s Chief Academic Officer. “The ACCESS Scholarship program has already proven to be an amazing opportunity for us to recognize deserving students and to help provide the educational foundation that will help set the course for their life ahead.”

“The ACCESS Scholarship program was founded to honor Ashworth’s late President and CEO, Gary Keisling’s personal mission of opening the doors of education to the underserved education population of America. We’re excited to present these scholarships,” Dr. Gargiulo added.
