Arup’s SoundLab Installs Tesira® Networked Audio System

BEAVERTON, Ore. - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Beaverton, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked (http://www.biamp.com/systems/index.aspx) media (http://www.biamp.com/systems/index.aspx) systems (http://www.biamp.com/systems/index.aspx), announces that Arup’s Chicago SoundLab–a groundbreaking acoustic design tool–is harnessing the power of AVB through Tesira to help provide an immersive listening environment that provides the ability to listen to both existing and proposed spaces in 3D.

Using acoustical signatures to generate direct comparisons of different design situations, SoundLab takes the guesswork out of sound quality via aural previews of everything from concert halls and city streets to museums and classrooms. In order to enhance the capabilities and flexibility of the Arup SoundLab, Arup Chicago needed to raise the bar on its already groundbreaking SoundLab technology and capabilities.

When the Chicago SoundLab upgraded their technology with Tesira as the digital backbone, they also made this project the first official Tesira installation in the world. The Tesira family of products provided the multiple channels of signal processing they needed without straining the DSP processors. It offered the ability to easily accommodate both analog and digital signals, specifically for AVB. Beyond just the SoundLab, the Tesira Server I/O also provided scalability for future office expansion and upgrades within the same chassis.

By adding Tesira to their existing AV system, Arup Chicago simplified their access to the system architecture by only having to interface with a single configuration frame.
