Warner Norcross Offers Daylong HR Seminar

Grand Rapids, Michigan, March 21, 2013
– The law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP will offer its popular human resources and benefits seminar on Monday, April 29 in Grand Rapids.

The daylong seminar will focus on “Strategy, Risk Management and Best Practices for Benefits and HR Professionals.” More than a dozen Warner Norcross attorneys focused on employee benefits, labor, employment law and litigation will offer sessions on a wide range of topics during the seminar at the Amway Grand Plaza.

The seminar will be offered in two parts, and attendees are welcome to register for either a half day or full day. The morning session, which begins at 8 a.m., will kick off with a health care reform update. The afternoon session will begin at 1 p.m. with a legislative update.

Fifteen break-out sessions on a variety of topics covering timely issues will be offered, including:

Monitoring and controlling benefit costs

HIPAA update

Implementing a “people strategy”

Performance reviews

Designing compensation plans

NLRB for non-union employees

Managing the risks of risk management

Challenges of FMLA and ADA

Background checks

The lunch program will feature a presentation from Larry Boress of Chicago-based Midwest Business Group on Health. Boress works with companies through the Midwest to develop cutting-edge health care programs. He will discuss what larger companies on the leading edge of health care delivery are doing now that more companies are likely to be doing in the next five years.

Attendees can receive six hours of general continuing education credits toward Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources recertification through the Human Resources Certification Institute. For more information please visit www.hrci.org.  

The cost of attendance, which includes lunch, ranges from $80-$205, depending on the number of sessions attended, client status and materials requested.
