EMRL Unveils New Website for Keep Your Home California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- EMRL has launched a new website for Keep Your Home California, a CalHFA program offering $2 billion in federal assistance to struggling homeowners.

The site’s design strays from the quintessential government agency website, with its soft typography and rich color palette. “I want people to feel like they are coming in from the rain,” said Floyd Diebel, Creative Director, of the site’s concept.

Facing foreclosure can be a grim and overwhelming time for a homeowner. Keepyourhomecalifornia.org provides a welcoming, positive experience for homeowners in need. One user said that she wanted to “curl up with a cup of tea” while viewing the site.

Users begin with a brief eligibility quiz that helps them make sense of the income and residency requirements without having to leave the site’s home page. The remainder of the site is rich with information, including stories of real people who saved their homes, and events homeowners can attend to meet with housing counselors.

Diebel spent months researching the greater social issues surrounding the housing market crisis. “I don’t want to make something that I don’t feel good about,” he said of his design philosophy. His belief in Keep Your Home California and their goals shines through in his work.

To date, Keep Your Home California has helped 22,385 people remain in their homes, with many more currently in the application process.
