The Boardwalk on Front celebrates Grand Opening this Friday

WILMINGTON, N.C. - March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- WILMINGTON, NC – The press is invited to attend the Grand Opening of The Boardwalk on Front.  The event will take place at 15 South Front Street on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m., with complimentary tastings of jalapeno planks, brat bites, fried oreos and reuben fritters.  The ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Bill Saffo will take place at 4 p.m.  
The venue located at 15 South Front Street has been vacant for 2 years adding an eyesore to the downtown area.  “The Boardwalk group took a troubled spot for the city and they spent a huge investment and turned this building into a family oriented venue.  This is a real improvement for downtown, Front Street, and to Wilmington in general.  What they have done is impressive and is a throwback from the old days,” said City Councilman Charlie Riverbark.  
The concept behind The Boardwalk on Front is a relaxed atmosphere that features a full restaurant, arcade, live entertainment, dance floor and bar.  The Boardwalk on Front will be for patrons of all ages featuring many arcade games where you can win anything from stuffed animals, gift certificates to local businesses to an Xbox.  The Boardwalk on Front offers private parties in the VIP area and patio for local businesses,
“I want a place for people to have a fun atmosphere and relax.  My goal is to make this place the premier destination for office parties, locals and children’s birthday parties.  The menu we have is unique and I want people to think of The Boardwalk as a place to eat some great food and come out and play," said General Manager Jack McCann.
The concept behind The Boardwalk on Front is a relaxed atmosphere that features a full restaurant, arcade, bar, dance floor and a live stage to showcase entertainment of Wilmington’s best bands.  The Boardwalk on Front will feature a traditional menu of boardwalk fares such as cotton candy, hot dogs, fried Snickers as well as unique sandwiches, appetizers and salads.  Monday nights The Boardwalk will host “Service Industry Night,“ of Wilmington that includes ½-price appetizers, Corn hole tournaments along with other games and interactive activities.   Wednesday nights will host “Working Women Wednesday,” that includes ½-price appetizers, drawings and prize contests and ½-price wine
Not only does The Boardwalk on Front offer fun for everyone, but its unique atmosphere offers a snapshot of history featuring authentic memorabilia and boardwalk planks from some of the most famous boardwalks in the world, including Coney Island and Atlantic City.  The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 11:00am to last call nightly.
